Create Video with Photos Using GOM Mix

2024-01-29

Hello everyone!

These days, many people are making videos of their photos to make their memories special.

In fact, when I teach, many people ask questions about how to turn photos into videos.

I think the important thing when making a video with photos is whether the photos were taken according to the passage of time.

If you collect photos like this and create a video, you can feel more impressive by including audio or playback than just still photos.

This post is about making a video with photos that even the general public can easily follow.

So shall we begin?

Part 1. The basics of GOM Mix editing! How to create a project

When taking pictures, most of the time, they are taken without considering the aspect ratio.

Therefore, when trying to adjust the ratio, it is sometimes difficult to get a sense of where to set the standard.

Videos always have a fixed ratio.

Most of the videos you see are 1920*1080, that is, 16:9 ratio, and GOM Mix Max is set so that you can see this ratio at a glance.

In addition to the 16:9 ratio, you can also set the 1:1 ratio, 9:16 ratio, etc.

For reference, the 1:1 ratio can be used for Instagram, and the 9:16 ratio can be used for short-form videos.

If you set the ratio like this, it will fit a fixed size, so it would be convenient to edit the photo ratio to fit this frame, right? 😊

Part 2. Let’s adjust the video timing! CutEdit

The most important part of video is getting the timing right.

If the video you edited seems boring, the first thing to check is the timing of the video.

As I have explained before, watching the video becomes more fun if you properly adjust the timing between slow and fast tempos.

Especially in the case of photo editing, the vitality of the video varies greatly depending on how the timing is adjusted.

In the case of timing adjustment, you can adjust it in various ways, such as slowing down the screen transition, then speeding it up, or continuing to speed it up, and then you can get a feel for it. 😊

Select all photos, place them on the timeline, and practice adjusting them using the crop function.

The current default setting is 3 seconds per photo.

With a photo placed on the timeline, if you move the mouse to the end of the photo clip, the mouse cursor will change.

You can edit it by clicking and dragging and dropping.

Also, if you edit a photo and make it into a video, it may feel boring because it is a still scene.

This problem can be solved by adding movement to the photo. 😆

Part 3. The pride of GOM Mix! Subtitles & Overlays

There are various types of subtitle presets in GOM Mix.

There are a total of 70 types of subtitle presets, and you can use a variety of presets such as white subtitles for general use, entertainment subtitles, and ending credits.

Among these, you can find a subtitle preset that suits your taste and apply it.

There are also many different types of overlays that are great to apply to your photos.

I think this is also an advantage of GOM Mix.

Usually, when editing video, you often use other programs to create clips that can be applied to video clips.

In this case, the hassle of finding and creating a design draft arises.

You can solve that hassle by editing with GOM Mix, which is installed in the program in the form of an overlay.

Especially when editing photos, you can make the photo more vivid by applying an overlay within the photo. 😊

Part 4. Let’s make the most of GOM Mix Max! How to apply audio

If you have applied an overlay, try using appropriate audio so that the video does not feel flat.

You can compose videos with better quality.

If you look at the end of the clip tab in GOM Mix, you will see ‘Background/Sound Effects’.

There are a total of 56 background/sound effects, with a variety of music available to suit your desired mood, including exciting and calm atmospheres.

This is all about editing video with photos.

how is it? Isn't it simpler than you think?

I think the most important part is timing control. This is called cut tempo control in technical terms.

Especially in the case of sources with no movement, such as photos, you can make the video more lively by adjusting the transition timing.

That's all for today's post.

See you in the next post! 😊
