How to convert high quality videos for iPod / iPod Touch. |
---|
High-quality H.264 video conversion for iPod/iPod Touch using Baseline Profile 3.0 is possible with GOM Video Converter. If you review the specs for the iPod Touch, you’ll notice the following limitations for H.264(AVC) video playback.
* H.264 video up to 720p, 30 frames per second, Main Profile level 3.1 with AAC-LC audio up to 160 Kbps, 48kHz, stereo audio in .m4v, .mp4, and .mov file formats.
Baseline Profile level 1.3 has a low maximum bit rate, resulting in relatively poor video quality, and thus making it difficult to convert files for TV output. GOM Video Converter supports conversions using Baseline Profile 3.0, which provides higher quality output to compliment the enhanced specifications of current generation portable devices. To use the high-quality iPod output preset, click the [Preset Settings] button on the main window, click the [+] next to "Apple", then select "iPod Touch/AVC/TVOUT" and click [Apply]. To change the output settings manually, follow the steps below.
2. From ‘Codec Tab - Options’, check ‘Limit H.264 Baseline Profile@Level 1.3/3.0’ and select 3.0 from the right.
3. Additional changes to "Bit Rate" and "Video Quality" can be made from the "Codec" tab. When you’ve finished adjusting these settings, click on the "Video" tab to make changes to "Size", "Ratio", "Frame", etc. |
